W. Grey Humphrey

President

Grey Humphrey is the President of PalmettoNet.

Humphrey joined Spirit Telecom in 1998 as the general manager of the data networks group. Before taking his current role at PalmettoNet, Humphrey was Spirit's Chief Operating Officer.   Prior to joining Spirit, Humphrey worked for TSI LineOne, SouthernNet, Telecom*USA, MCI and SCANA Communications..

A native of South Carolina, Humphrey is a graduate of Clemson University with a bachelor's degree in administrative management. He received his master of business administration from the University of South Carolina, Moore School of Business.

C. Nicole Price

Managing Director of Customer Operations

Nicole is responsible for overseeing all ordering, provisioning, billing and customer service.

Price joined PalmettoNet in 1996 as Manager of Customer Orders and has served at PalmettoNet for 12 of its 23 years in business. Her past work includes positions as order supervisor, director of business operations and assistant general manager. Price has served as director DDR Broadband Networks from 2001-2005. She also served as Secretary to the DDR organization in 2003-05. Prior to joining PalmettoNet, Price worked at Interstate FiberNet holding various Project Coordinator and Project Management positions. Price is a native of Lanett, Alabama and earned her B.S. Degree from Troy State University in Business Administration.

David Warden

Business Development Manager

David Warden a native of the great state of Virginia joined the Navy in 1981 to 1985 working in Avionics. Was only one of two people in his squadron to ever receive meritorious advancement and received numerous awards. After leaving the Navy joined MCI as a contractor in 1985 and worked his way into the company as a fulltime employee. While spending 9 years at MCI, he was promoted several times and worked in multiple departments. When he left MCI in 1994, he was Senior Field Engineer with multiple techs covering North & South Carolina reporting to him.

Warden joined BTI Telecom in 1994 from MCI as Manager of Fiber Operations and was responsible for growing fiber network to cover the Eastern coast from New York to Miami promoted to Director of Operation with responsibilities for 10 Local switches, 4 Long distance switches and over 4,000 miles of fiber. Left BTI in 2000 to join FPL/FiberNet in Miami to become Manager of Outside/Inside Plant Manager and helped in designing and building out city networks over the state of Florida.

After a short stay in Florida Warden left to join DukeNet in 2001 as Project Manager. He spent 6 years in various positions and was instrumental in helping evolve the company to provide services direct to large Enterprise customers in the Carolinas.

Joey Adams

Project Manager

Joey Adams is the Engineering Manager of Palmettinet. He is responsible for planning, engineering, and construction of Sonet and DWDM routes in South Carolina , North Carolina , and Georgia covering more than 4000 fiber route miles.

Adams joined Palmettonet in 2004 as Operations Manager before moving to Engineering Manager. Prior to joining Palmettonet Adams worked for Rock Hill Telephone / Comporium Communications. During his 25 year tenure at Comporium, Adams worked in I/R, PBX-Key, CATV, Central Office, and Engineering Departments.

John Flake

Engineering Manager

John has worked in design and systems engineering of transport networks for the last 11 years. These responsibilities included overseeing New Product Introduction demonstrations, lab Verification Office testing, and field installations. Prior to joining PalmettoNet in 2006, John worked as a Technical Marketing and Test Engineer for six years with Cisco Systems supporting the Long Haul, MSTP, and MSPP platforms for customers throughout North America. He worked on the first customer trials and deployments of the successful 15454 product family that introduced integrated DWDM. In 1997, he started work as a Systems Engineer with Nortel supporting both SONET and DWDM product lines for almost three years.

John is a graduate with honors from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He currently resides with his wife and two daughters in Lexington, South Carolina.

Kevin Comalander

Operations Manager

Kevin Comalander is the Operations Manager for Palmettonet. He is responsible for directing and coordinating personnel in the operations, maintenance, and security of PalmettoNet's optical transport network and building points of presence (POP).

Comalander has 20 years experience in the telecommunications industry. Before joining Palmettonet in 2006, he was employed by Comporium Telecom and served as the transport installations team coordinator. He also served as a site team leader for Nortel Networks for in the south east region.

Comalander continued studies through the Southwestern College of Christian Ministries, Bethany , OK . He then served four years in the U.S Army in the communications field and as a paratrooper.

Martie J. Willaby, PE

Director of Sales

Martie Willaby is the Director of Sales for Palmettonet. He is charged with leading PalmettoNet's sales efforts in the wholesale market. He has developed extensive relationships over the years with PalmettoNet's customer base which consists mainly of wireless providers, CLEC's, ISP's and other network providers.

Willaby has over 8 years of experience in the telecom industry. Before joining Palmettonet in September of 2002, Willaby was the Director of Sales for Dukenet Communications. Before starting in telecom on 2000, Willaby spent 10 years working for Duke Energy in various engineering and account management positions.

Willaby is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in both NC and SC.
